General Terms of Sale

B2C E-Commerce Contract for Golden House Publications

Last Updated: July 2026

These General Terms of Sale ("Terms") govern all commercial purchase contracts concluded between the seller (Golden House Publications) and any retail consumer ("Customer", "you") making a purchase via our online bookstore at www.goldenhousepublications.com (the "Site").  This contract is structured in strict compliance with the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree no. 206/2005), Italian Legislative Decree no. 70/2003 on Electronic Commerce, and European Union Consumer Protection Directives.

1. Seller Identity & Contacts

The products purchased on the Site are sold directly by the publisher/author platform:  Company/Trade Name: Golden House Publications;  Registered Business Address: Piazza Andrea del Sarto 2, 56122 Pisa, Italy; VAT Number (Partita IVA): 02584220509; Fiscal Code (Codice Fiscale): LNGGRG85T67Z103P; Email: golden.house.publications@gmail.com

2. Scope of Application & Conclusion of Contract

These Terms apply exclusively to individual retail consumers (B2C transactions purchasing books for personal use). Business entities requesting standard commercial invoicing must contact us prior to checkout.  By clicking the "Place Order" or "Pay Now" button during the checkout flow on our Wix platform, the Customer places a binding purchase order. The sales contract is officially concluded only when Golden House Publications sends a formal order confirmation email to the email address provided by the Customer.

3. Prices, Book Catalog, and Currency

All book prices listed on the Site are displayed in Euros (€).  In accordance with Italian Tax Regulations regarding publishing (Art. 74, paragraph 1, letter c of Presidential Decree no. 633/1972), VAT on books is officially paid at the source by the publisher (IVA assolta dall'editore). Therefore, the public list price shown is inclusive of all taxes.  Standard shipping is fully included in the book prices displayed on the Site for destinations within the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom (UK). The price visible on the product catalog is the complete final price at checkout for these regions, with no added delivery charges.

4. Payment Methods

Payments are securely processed via native Wix Payments infrastructure. We accept major Credit/Debit Cards, PayPal, and any alternative secure digital checkout gateways enabled on our site at the moment of the transaction. Book shipping only commences once the full payment cleared confirmation is received.

5. Shipping and Delivery Conditions
  • EU and UK Shipments: Orders destined for the European Union and the United Kingdom are securely prepared and handed to our logistics partners within 2–3 business days. A dedicated timeline schedule outlining estimated standard transit windows can be found on our Shipping Information section.

Shipments to the UK are subject to customs clearance procedures, which may result in longer delivery times. Any fees imposed by the courier or customs authorities remain the responsibility of the customer.

  • International & Global Shipping: For deliveries to countries outside of the EU and UK geographic zones, shipping is not automatically processed at checkout. Global shipping is managed exclusively on a case-by-case basis. International readers must contact us directly at golden.house.publications@gmail.com prior to purchase to receive a custom shipping quotation and verify feasibility.

Golden House Publications cannot be held liable for delivery delays caused directly by external postal backlogs, regional customs inspections, or extreme force majeure events

6. Mandatory 14-Day Right of Withdrawal (Diritto di Recesso)

In accordance with Article 52 of the Italian Consumer Code, any EU-based retail consumer has a mandatory legal right to change their mind and withdraw from this contract within 14 calendar days from the date they receive physical possession of the books, without providing any justification.  How to Exercise Your Right:  To initiate a return, notify us explicitly via email at golden.house.publications@gmail.com within the 14-day window. You must securely pack and mail the books back to our registered business address at Piazza Andrea del Sarto 2, 56122 Pisa, Italy, within 14 days of notifying us.

Return Postage Cost: As allowed under Art. 56 of the Consumer Code, the customer shall bear the direct logistical cost of returning the goods, unless the item arrived defective.

Refund Process: Upon receiving the returned books in their original, undamaged, unread resale condition, we will process a full refund of the total purchase price paid at checkout within 14 days. Because standard shipping is included in our retail price for EU and UK buyers, customers from these zones will receive a 100% refund of the transaction amount. Refunds are issued using the same payment method used at checkout.

7. Statutory Legal Guarantee (Garanzia Legale di Conformità)

All books sold on our Site are covered by the Italian statutory legal guarantee of conformity (Articles 128-135 of the Consumer Code) against manufacturing defects or physical transit damage. If a book arrives with severe binding defects, missing pages, or heavy structural damage incurred during shipping, the Customer has the right to have the book replaced free of charge or fully refunded. Please submit photographic proof of the defect to golden.house.publications@gmail.com within 60 days of discovering it.

8. General E-Commerce Disclaimer

Golden House Publications accepts no liability for minor typos in book descriptions, unexpected translation nuances, transcription errors from source manuscripts, or brief technical platform disruptions occurring on the Wix hosting servers. We are not responsible for the external contents of any third-party links or author bio resources referenced on this Site. Unauthorized manipulation, hacking, or data tampering on our server infrastructure is strictly prohibited and subject to legal action.

9. Applicable Law and Jurisdictional Disputes

These Terms of Sale and all connected purchase contracts are governed strictly by the laws of the Republic of Italy.  For retail consumers, any legal dispute arising from the interpretation or execution of this contract falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the court where the consumer resides or has their legal domicile.  EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR): Pursuant to EU Regulation no. 524/2013, the European Commission provides an online out-of-court dispute portal for e-commerce consumers. You can access it here: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
